Chandigarh, July 12

Out of the total 6,430 seats for various undergraduate courses, only 2,644 have been filled through the centralised admission process for city Panjab University-affiliated colleges after the first counselling.

For the vacant seats, applicants have to apply online to attend the second counselling on July 18. Officials involved in the admission process said there were many students who were allotted colleges, but did not turn as they were also trying their luck in Delhi colleges.

“We are hopeful that most of the seats will be filled in the second counselling. Those who were allotted seats in the first counseling and those who got left out, both categories can apply to get admitted in the second counselling,” said an official.

The third counselling will be held on July 23. Following this, de-reservation of seats will be conducted on July 24.
