Outdated fire extinguishers replaced at Secretariat

Chandigarh: Day after a fire incident occurred in the Secretariat building of the Chandigarh Administration at Sector 9, the Engineering Department began replacing the outdated fire extinguishers in the building today .

Day after a fire incident occurred in the Secretariat building of the Chandigarh Administration at Sector 9, the Engineering  Department  began  replacing the outdated  fire extinguishers  in the  building  today .  The Tribune  had highlighted in its  report  today  that a majority of the fire extinguishers installed inside the building were  outdated with the expiry dates mentioned of 2016.  

One of the officers of the  Engineering Department  said the new fire extinguishers have been  installed at the  building  and the loose wires  have also been checked to stop such  fire incidents.  Employees of the Secretariat said that this was the third incident of fire in the recent times at the floor.
