Owner flees with SUV impounded at naka

CHANDIGARH: A SUV, which was impounded at a drunken driving naka, was stolen by its owner with a duplicate key tonight.

Chandigarh, December 10

A SUV, which was impounded at a drunken driving naka, was stolen by its owner with a duplicate key tonight. The naka was laid on the road separating Sector 16 and 17 here.

Sources said a SUV bearing Haryana number was impounded at the naka by Head Constable Daya Nand around 10 pm.

The SUV was parked near the naka and the police were supposed to take it to the Traffic Lines in Sector 29. However after sometime, the SUV owner managed to drive away the SUV with a duplicate key.

The traffic police informed the police control room after which a police team reached the spot.

An investigation has been initiated at Sector 17 police station. The police have flashed a message.
