Paper leak cases: Accused surrenders in court

MOHALI: The accused in multiple paper leak cases, Harinder Singh, alias Rimmi Brar, surrendered in a local court on Tuesday.



Mohali, June 20

The accused in multiple paper leak cases, Harinder Singh, alias Rimmi Brar, surrendered in a local court on Tuesday. He was allegedly involved in the paper leak case of the Local Bodies Department and the exam for the post of SDO (civil) in the Irrigation Department.

The Vigilance Bureau had booked him on October 16, 2016, for being involved in leaking the question paper of these exams that were held at Thapar University, Patiala. He was sent to police remand till Friday by the court. The matter had come to light after a Malout resident had given a written complaint that Rs 30 lakh had been demanded from him for the question paper of the exams.

As per allegations, Harinder took the beneficiaries to Delhi to meet Mithilesh Pandey, alias Guru ji, alias Master ji, an accused in such multiple paper leak cases across the country. In the Local Bodies Department paper leak case, he along with an accomplice, Honey Mann, had sent the questions that would appear in the exam through WhatsApp. Mann was arrested earlier and is behind bars. — TNS
