AMBALA: The Congress Seva Dal complained to the police against an Ambala resident for allegedly posting a doctored picture of Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Facebook on Monday.

The Congress Seva Dal complained to the police against an Ambala resident for allegedly posting a doctored picture of Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Facebook on Monday.

Raghav Vij, state coordinator for social media, Haryana Pradesh Congress Seva Dal, told the police that Amit Kaushik had posted a Photoshopped image of Rahul Gandhi, along with objectionable comments, on Facebook.

He said, “The person has hurt our feelings and such statements can create an unwanted situation. Such posts wouldn’t be tolerated by the Congress. Strict action must be taken against him.”

Army men urged to vote

Ambala: Chief Electoral Officer Rajiv Ranjan today held a meeting with Army personnel to ensure their full participation in the Lok Sabha elections. The meeting was held at Raina Auditorium. He motivated them to cast their votes. Giving information about the service voters’ portal, he said, “The Army personnel can get their vote prepared through this portal.”

He said the electronically transmitted postal ballot system had been introduced for the first time in the elections. For the service voter, it is mandatory to fill Form Nos. 2, 2a and 3. Deputy Commissioner Sharandeep Kaur was also present on this occasion.
