Chandigarh, October 23

While the government is tightening the noose around those involved in the illegal use of subsidised cooking gas cylinder, Railway trackmen were seen using the cooking gas cylinder for the maintenance of track.

The incident came to light today afternoon when the trackmen were welding a railway line using a cooking gas cylinder. However, passengers and a few employees objected to the use of subsidised cylinder. The trackmen said the domestic gas cylinder was given to them by the authorities.

However, the Railway officials remained completely clueless about the use of domestic gas cylinder. Station Superintendent TP Singh said the Engineering Department looked into such matters. —TNS
