Rishabh-Rachit grab doubles gold

CHANDIGARH:Rishabh and Rachit Chopra defeated Shaurya Gupta and Shaurya Raj in a tough battle to win the men's double event on the concluding day of the 31st Chandigarh State Table Tennis Championship for Sardar Gurmeet Singh Grewal Memorial Trophy, at the Sector 23 TT Hall, here on Sunday.

Chandigarh, November 11 

Rishabh and Rachit Chopra defeated Shaurya Gupta and Shaurya Raj in a tough battle to win the men's double event on the concluding day of the 31st Chandigarh State Table Tennis Championship for Sardar Gurmeet Singh Grewal Memorial Trophy, at the Sector 23 TT Hall, here on Sunday. 

The winning pair registered an 11-8 8-11 11-6 8-11 11-9 victory to win the title. 

Kalyani and Naina beat Pareen and Deevanshi 11-8 9-11 11-8 11-9 win the women's double title, while in the mixed doubles final Pareen and Rishabh defeated Sumit and Shally 11-8 9-11 11-7 11-9.

Sunil, Kalyani win senior category final 

Kalyani of PAG Audit Haryana defeated beat Vibhuti of Carmel Convent School, Sector 9, in a close match to win the women's final. Kalyani won first two games 11-6 11-6, however Vibhuti returned back in next two 9-11 8-11 to level the scores. 

In the last two games, Kalyani kept her calm and bounced back 11-7 11-8 to win the title.  In semis, Kalyani beat Deevanshi of St Kabir School 11-9 9-11 11-7 11-8 11-8, while Vibhuti overpowered Pareen 11-8 9-11 11-6 7-11 11-9 11-8.

Sunil Ahuja of AG Punjab won the men's title by defeating Pankaj Sidana of SD College 11-8 8-11 11-9 11-7 16-14. He beat Shaurya Gupta 11-8 9-11 11-9 11-8 11-6 in the semifinals, while Pankaj defeated Divaksh 11-7 11-8 9-11 11-7 8-11 11-9.0
