Sarabjot, Harkirat ease into main draw

Chandigarh, August 13

Sarabjot Singh blanked Raidular Singh 8-0 to enter the boys’ U-16 main draw on the opening day of the Roots-AITA Talent Series tournament at the Roots Tennis Academy in Zirakpur today. 

Harkirat Singh tamed Rishi Dahiya 8-1, while Harmanjeet Singh drubbed Praney Mittal 8-0 in the final qualifying round. Ranveer Singh humbled Paras Chauhan 8-1.  

Devansh Verma had an easy outing against Jot Karan, winning the match 8-2. Praney Sharma thumped Prabhudey Singh 8-0, while Rahul Kumar was awarded a walkover against Arhan Pahwa. 

Aayush Butta had to fight hard against for his place in the main round. He overcame Udeyveer Singh 8-7(4) in the final qualifying round. 

Meanwhile, Anuj Pal registered an 8-2 win over Dhruv Pratap Singh in the first round of the boys’ U-14 qualifiers.    

Karan Singh overcame Parth Sharma 8-6, while Shivdev Singh humbled Aarush Sharma 8-5. Aryan Jolly won his qualifying round match against Shivansh 8-4. 

Yashvardhan tamed Karan Singh 8-1, while Yash Aggarwal overwhelmed Udeyveer Singh 8-2. Aryan Chhatwal survived a scare from Keshav Dangi before he move ahead with an 8-7(4) win. 

Jivaj Chawla got the better of Satvik Singla 8-1, while Anuj Pal managed to beat Dhruv Chaudhary 8-6. Aditya Chauhan beat Rijul Bhatia 8-4.
