Chandigarh: Saupin’s School, Sector 32, defeated AKSIPS, Sector 41, by eight wickets in a Sub-junior Cricket Championship match here on Saturday.



Chandigarh: Saupin’s School, Sector 32, defeated AKSIPS, Sector 41, by eight wickets in a Sub-junior Cricket Championship match here on Saturday. Batting first, AKSIPS scored 114/9 in 25 overs. Yamuna Singh made 37 runs. Kevin added eight runs to the AKSIPS total. Karan was the most effective bowler for Saupin’s School, claiming 3/13. Shashank took 2/27, while Keshav returned with figures of 1/20. In reply, Saupin’s School romped home in 13.3 overs with eight wickets to spare. Nikhil contributed 32 runs to the chase, while Navin made 26. Harvinder Singh grabbed 1/28 for AKSIPS. TNS 

Olympic Day celebrations

Chandigarh: Hockey Chandigarh will conduct a couple of exhibition matches on June 23 at the Sector 42 Hockey Stadium to mark Olympic Day celebrations. The sports body also said some Olympians, upcoming national hockey players and silver medal winning senior women’s team of Chandigarh will be felicitated during the event. TNS
