Seminar dwells on healthy parenting

Patiala: A thought-provoking and informative seminar was conducted on the DAV Public School premises to channelise the bond between teachers and students and maintain transparency between the school and parents.



Patiala: A thought-provoking and informative seminar was conducted on the DAV Public School premises to channelise the bond between teachers and students and maintain transparency between the school and parents. During this session, 75 parents of students from Classes VI to VIII were addressed by counsellor Akanksha Garg and coordinator Kirandeep Bawa. While emphasising on healthy parenting, Akanksha highlighted that a child’s aggressive behaviour should be dealt with care as parents play a pivotal role in overcoming fears and anxieties of the child. Bawa tried to solve obstacles faced by parents during their child’s academic journey. Principal Vivek Tiwari, while thanking parents for their efforts in making the seminar a great success, said such seminars were quite useful to strengthen the relationship between students and educators. Splash pool party

Patiala: St Peter’s Academy organised a splash pool party for students of Class LKG — Class V. As many as 670 students participated in the party. The party began with a magic show which enchanted students. Later, the children enjoyed the splash pool, rides, swings and rain dance. On the occasion, Principal Fr John Bosco said such activities were important for the overall development of the children and the school would try to conduct such events in future also. TNS

Cleanliness drive

Patiala: Cadets of the air wing and army wing of The British Co-Ed High School held a cleanliness drive here on Saturday. The cadets took to streets and localities in the vicinity of the city and made local residents aware of the importance of maintaining hygiene. They picked up garbage strewn all over and disposed of it in dumping bins. Anil Kumar and Mandeep Chand, associated NCC officers, were the coordinators for the campaign. TNS

Cricket tourney from May 25

Patiala: HR Saggi Cricket Foundation is organising the Patiala Senior Men Open Hot Weather Tournament from May 25. The league-cum-knock-out tournament will be played at the HRCF cricket ground in Patiala. The last date for registration is May 22. The league matches would be of 25 overs while the final match will be of 40 overs. As many as 16 teams have already registered for the tournament. TNS
