Panchkula, January 10

Taking no chances, the Panchkula police have restricted the entry of mediapersons to the courts complex, where the special CBI court will to pronounce judgment against Dera Sacha Sauda chief Ram Rahim Singh in the Ram Chander Chhatrapati murder case tomorrow.

Though the Sirsa dera head will be produced through videoconferencing, the other three accused—Nirmal Singh, Kuldeep Singh and Krishan Lal— presently out on bail, have been told to remain in the court. A special enclosure will be created near the parking area of Suraj Theatre, where OB vans of news channels could be parked.

Kamaldeep Goyal, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), said over nine companies of the local police as well as paramilitary personnel would guard the city

Goyal said the roads leading to the courts complex had been barricaded and the roads from Majri Chowk would remain closed. As many as 17 check points have been set up in the city.

Section 144 imposed

DCP Kamaldeep Goyal issued orders, imposing Section 144 of the CrPC, banning a gathering of five        or more persons to maintain the law and order. As per the order, Section 144 will be effective in Sectors 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 20, 21, 23, 24, Devi Nagar and Kharag Mangoli. It includes the National Highway, too. There will be complete restriction on carrying a deadly weapon. Sikhs and government employees on duty have been kept out of the restriction.
