CHANDIGARH: The UT police have arrested the owner of a travel company for duping a person on the pretext of sending him abroad.

The UT police have arrested the owner of a travel company for duping a person on the pretext of sending him abroad.

A team led by Inspector Baldev Kumar, SHO of the Sector 34 police station, arrested the suspect, identified as Ravi Bhatia, a resident of Jaggi Colony, Ambala city, who is the proprietor of Gaytri Travels that has an office in Sector 34.

According to the police, complainant Pawan Kumar, a resident of Kajheri village, Chandigarh, had reported that Ravi committed cheating him on the pretext of sending him to Malaysia. The suspect took around Rs 1.40 lakh from the complainant. However, neither he sent him abroad nor returned his money. A case has been registered at the Sector 34 police station.
