Two booked for outraging woman’s modesty

ZIRAKPUR: The local police have booked two persons for outraging the modesty of a woman.



Zirakpur, February 17

The local police have booked two persons for outraging the modesty of a woman.

The victim, a resident of Panchsheel Enclave, Zirakpur, in her complaint to the police alleged that she, along with her brother-in-law, went to the market on Sunday. While they were crossing a road, Saiyam Raut and his brother Rahul Raut started pelting stone on them. She further alleged that the accused also passed lewd remarks at her.

A case has been registered under Sections 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 294 (sings, recites or utters any obscene song, ballad or words, in or near any public place) and 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) of the IPC at the Zirakpur police station. The police said investigation into the matter was on. — OC
