Urdu teacher murder case solved, one held

DERA BASSI: With the arrest of one person, the murder mystery of a 51-year-old, an Urdu teacher from Mauli Jagran, whose body was fished out of Ghaggar River on May 15, near Kakrali village, has been cracked.

With the arrest of one person, the murder mystery of a 51-year-old, an Urdu teacher from Mauli Jagran, whose body was fished out of Ghaggar River on May 15, near Kakrali village, has been cracked.

The accused has been identified as Raj Kumar (41), who staying at a rented accommodation in Muali Jagran.

Dera Bassi SHO, Mohinder Singh, said the deceased Anishur Rehman (51) used to work as a teacher and also worked as an exorcist. He said the Raj Kumar's wife Usha was suffering with some ailment and he took his wife at the deceased place for treatment, hoping that Anishur would cure her for which he had already paid Rs30,000 .

However, Usha's condition did not improve and she died a month ago while undergoing treatment from Anishur. The accused told police that Rehman mislead him and did not let him consult a doctor which led to her death, adding that Rehman was demanding for more money from him.The accused Raj Kumar decided to kill him and hatch a conspiracy, added police.

The police said, on May 15, the accused called Anishur on the pretext of arranging money for him and took him to Ramgarh. But when they reached Ghaggar River near Kakrali village, the accused stopped his bike to attend nature's call.

Meanwhile, the deceased Anishur also went to ease. Taking the advantage of the darkness, the accused Raj Kumar pushed him into the river and forcefully drowned him till he died. Later, the case was solved with the help of the surveillance team who went through the call detail record (CDR) of the deceased.

Anishur Rehman left behind his wife, six daughters and a five-year-old son.

While, the accused Raj Kumar was also a sole bread earner of the family after his wife's death. She died a month ago due to ailment. The sources said he was into construction work and his two daughters was dependent on their father earnings only.
