Woman ends life

AMBALA:A 26-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide on tracks at the Dukheri railway station in Ambala on Friday.

A 26-year-old woman  allegedly committed suicide on tracks at the Dukheri railway station in Ambala on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Sonia, a resident of Shalimar Bag, Ambala Cantonment.  The girl took the extreme step around 3:30 pm. She was found injured on the railway tracks by the Railway Protection Force personnel. 

She was rushed to the railway hospital, then to the Civil Hospital, Ambala Cantonment, from where she was referred to the GMCH, Sector 32, Chandigarh, where she died. 

A suicide note was also recovered in which the girl has held no one responsible for the extreme step taken by her. In the note she has mentioned not to handover her body to anyone, including her family. 

The Government Railway Police (GRP) ASI, Kuldeep said “So far, no memo, regarding the incident has been issued by the on duty railway station official concerned. We had received a message from the hospital that a girl with head injuries reached there. Her body will be handed over to the family after the postmortem.”

Meanwhile, the GRP has started proceedings under Section 174, CrPC.
