10 booked for running illegal PG accommodations in Mohali

MOHALI: Continuing their drive against illegal paying guest accommodations, being run in the town and its nearby villages, the Mohali Police registered cases against 10 owners of the houses.

Continuing their drive against illegal paying guest accommodations, being run in the town and its nearby villages, the Mohali Police registered cases against 10 owners of the houses.

The Mohali SSP, Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, said the owners of the houses in question were found running the PG accommodations illegally. “When demanded, they could not even produce the required documents,” said the SSP, adding that a case under Section 188 of the IPC had been registered against them.

Those booked by the police at the Sohana Police Station include Sarabjit Singh, Ajaib Singh, Surinder Pal Singh, Jasmer Singh, Ram Lal, Kulvir Singh, Jagpreet Singh, Avtar Singh and his namesake and Jaswinder Singh.

The drive will continue in the coming days, said the SSP. “Those who are yet to regularise their PG accommodations should do the needful,” said Bhullar.
