PANCHKULA: Two more witnesses in the 2007 Samjhauta Express bombings case turned hostile today.

Two more witnesses in the 2007 Samjhauta Express bombings case turned hostile today. Alok and Charan Singh of the Faridabad shooting range backtracked.

A total of 183 witnesses have registered their statements so far; around 30 of them have turned hostile in this case of the National Investigation Agency in which Assemanand is the main accused. However, important witnesses are yet to record their statements in the case. The next hearing is scheduled for December 23. On February 19, 2007, 68 persons, mostly from Pakistan, were killed in a blast aboard the Samjhauta Express. The train was going from Delhi to Lahore. The blasts took place in two compartments near Dewana village in Panipat. — TNS
