2 more women fall prey to snatchers

CHANDIGARH:In the first incident, two motorcycle-borne miscreants snatched a purse containing Rs 10,000, an ATM card and a mobile phone from a woman on the road separating Sectors 35 and 36 this evening.

Two more snatching incidents were reported from the city today. 

In the first incident, two motorcycle-borne miscreants snatched a purse containing Rs 10,000, an ATM card and a mobile phone from a woman on the road separating Sectors 35 and 36 this evening. 

According to the police, the victim, Balwinder Kaur, a senior assistant with the Irrigation Department, Punjab, was targeted by the snatchers near Kisan Bhawan Chowk. 

The snatchers sped away after committing the crime. The police were informed following which they visted the spot. Two hours later, another snatching incident was reported from Sector 46. Around 9.10 pm, the police received a call that a gold chain had been snatched from a woman near her house.

The snatchers were riding a motorcycle. The police visited the the spot. The CCTV footage of nearby areas is being scrutinised.
