30 Karnal villages to get Rs1 lakh each for cleanliness

KARNAL: Thirty gram panchayats have been selected for cleanliness at block level in the district and each will receive Rs 1 lakh prize money for carrying out development works.

Thirty gram panchayats have been selected for cleanliness at block level in the district and each will receive Rs 1 lakh prize money for carrying out development works.

It was announced by Usha Devi, chairperson, Zila Parishad, during a district-level meeting under the Swachh Bharat Mission at Panchayat Bhawan today.

“The best village in the district for cleanliness is yet to be announced, for which the committee has been constituted,” said Usha Devi. Besides, the panchayat with maximum marks for cleanliness would get Rs 1 lakh extra, she said. A block-level competition for the selection of villages was held between October and February.

The selected villages are Pakakhera, Amritpur Kala, Umarpur, Chaura, Sikri, Ranjeet Nagar, Dupheri, Kairwali, Beed Raitkhaa, Abdulapur, Lathro, Bir Dandari, Thal, Lalupura, Labakri, Musthfabad, Seedpur, Gobindgarh, Thari, Peerbadoli, Randoli, Ramba, Shekhanpur, Dabri, Jabhala, Ghari Khajoor, Gharpur Khalsa, Kharkali, Amargarh and Pingli.
