Cardiologist Dr Sushil today held a day-long medical camp for the patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases at Gurdwara Shri Guru Arjun Dev in the Domana area here.

During the camp, Dr Sushil emphasised that by prescribing a certain diet or discouraging the abuse of alcohol and tobacco, religion could help promote a healthy lifestyle.

“Religious institutions provide social support mechanisms and practices that encourage healthy behaviours as well as a personal sense of meaning. Individuals, particularly elders and those with chronic medical conditions, often turn to religious coping methods when faced with mental and physical health difficulties,” Dr Sushil said.

More than 500 patients were examined and treated at the camp. Free of cost medicines were also given to the patients.
