An ‘Ardaas’ to end drug menace in Punjab

CHANDIGARH: “I am a product of Punjab, and it’s my duty to give back what I have earned. I pray that all youngsters from rural Punjab who go to metros to find jobs should always stay connected to their roots,” said popular singer actor-turned-director Gippy Grewal today.

“I am a product of Punjab, and it’s my duty to give back what I have earned. I pray that all youngsters from rural Punjab who go to metros to find jobs should always stay connected to their roots,” said popular singer actor-turned-director Gippy Grewal today. “I pray that those who have stayed behind to look after their families and land don’t get tied to drugs or others social evils.”

Gippy who visited The Tribune office along with rapper and music director Badshah for the promotion of their upcoming Punjabi film ‘Ardaas’, said, “I sincerely pray that the community feeling that is still so alive in every ‘pind’ of Punjab remains so. This is my ardaas.”

The movie stars Gurpreet Ghuggi, BN Sharma, Rana Ranbir, Karamjit Anmol, Sardar Sohi, Ammy Virk, Mandy Takhar and Isha Rikhi and uses ‘Gurbaani’ to spread the message of love and brotherhood in the film. It is an ‘Ardaas’ to end drug menace and to build a strong rural Punjab which is the backbone of the state.

The film releases March 11 in India and overseas. The USP of the film is its star cast and a strong storyline.

Gippy and Badshah met the staff of The Tribune and also visited the newspaper’s Web section where he was apprised of various aspects of the functioning of the online edition.
