Apologise or face action: MP to Cong

MANDI: Perturbed over sharp criticism of the Modi-led Central government by Congress leaders during the Youth Congress rally at Mandi yesterday, BJP MP Ramswaroop Sharma today threatened to move court if the Congress leaders did not apologize for their remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Perturbed over sharp criticism of the Modi-led Central government by Congress leaders during the Youth Congress rally at Mandi yesterday, BJP MP Ramswaroop Sharma today threatened to move court if the Congress leaders did not apologize for their remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Addressing a press conference here at Mandi, he alleged that “National Youth Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Brar used offensive language against the Prime Minister during the rally where senior leaders of Congress, including six-time Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, were present but nobody bothered to stop him. We condemn the act of Congress leaders”, he said.

Threatening the Congress leadership to apologize or get ready to face legal action for malicious speech against the Modi-led government, he said the Virbhadra government had failed to speed up development works in the state. In the forthcoming Vidhan Sabha election due next year, people of the state would give them befitting reply.

“We ask National Youth Congress leader and the organizers of rally to express their apology in public for their absurd remarks, which tried to malign the image of the Modi-led Central government” said Sharma.

He also accused Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh of misleading representatives of Panchayati Raj institutions that the Central government had failed to make provision of financial assistance under the 14th Finance Commission for Panchayat Samiti and Zila Parishad. “Two year’s regime of the Modi-led Central government is a big success for nation, where no charges of corruption came in to light, while 60 years regime of the Congress failed to bring inclusive development across nation and promoted corruption, terrorism and unemployment” he remarked.
