Arrested SAD leader Balwinder Singh “Pinder Sarpanch” of Chak Uttar Singhwala village has been booked in another case of land grab. Local SAD ex-Municipal Councillor Daleep Singh, local resident Shampy and nearly 15 unidentified persons have been booked in the case.
Manjeet Kaur, a resident of Kotkapura Road, complained to the police that Pinder Sarpanch, Daleep Singh, Shampy and 10-15 more armed persons attempted to forcibly take possession of her house on June 12.
“When I raised an alarm, some people gathered outside my house. The accused then ran away, threatening me with dire consequences if I informed the matter to the police,” she said.
Muktsar SSP Kuldeep Chahal marked an inquiry to SP (H) Narinderpal Singh, who in his report on June 25 recommended action against the people named in the complaint. Thereafter, the case was registered.
Iqbal Singh, SHO, City Muktsar police station, said, “Pinder Sarpanch has been sent to sent to police remand for a day. He was in judicial custody in another land grab case. Now, we are trying to arrest the other accused in the case.”
Chahal said several complaints of similar nature had been filed against Pinder Sarpanch. Pinder had planned to grab some agricultural land near a paper mill in Rupana village, near here, recently.
