Jammu, March 2

Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today said national interest and interest of people of state would be supreme and party interest would always come second.

He said his government would work to promote understanding and emotional integrity among in the state which was the primary agenda of the coalition.

The CM said this at the maiden meeting of the Council of Ministers held here today under his chairmanship at the civil secretariat.

Mufti said it was not a partisan coalition, but a “coalition of hope, reconciliation and opportunity” which would focus on removing the trust deficit between the state and the rest of the country.

“The main focus of the government should be on reviving the defunct institutions and restoration of their credibility as per the aspirations of the people,” he said, adding that J&K would not move ahead until they bring accountability and transparency in governance.

He said the Common Minimum Programme was a guideline for governance and it was its duty to implement it judiciously to fulfil the aspirations of the people of the state.

Mufti said the PDP and BJP had decided to join hands consciously to bring the state out of uncertainty and put it on the path of peace and prosperity.

He hoped that all ministers would focus on the problems of the people of the state, besides concentrating on their own constituencies.
