CM inaugurates vegetable market

SHIMLA: A sub-vegetable market at Tapri in Kinnaur district was today inaugurated by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh.

A sub-vegetable market at Tapri in Kinnaur district was today inaugurated by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh. He also laid the foundation stone of a Kisan Bhawan and a commercial complex to be constructed at a cost of Rs 1.50 crore at Tapri from Shimla.

Agriculture Produce Marketing Board chairman Dr Subhash Manglet and Marketing Board advisor Devender Shayam were also present on the occasion.

The state government had provided the land for setting up of the sub-vegetable market besides making a provision of Rs 22.58 crore through the Local Area Developmental Authority for the construction of the vegetable market. This market will benefit people from remote areas of Kinnaur and the annual business of around 50,000 metric tonnes vegetables and 60,000 metric tonnes fruits will be carried out through this market.
