Commission set up for disabled: CM

DEHRADUN: Chief Minister Harish Rawat today said the government had set up a commission for betterment of persons with disabilities.

Chief Minister Harish Rawat today said the government had set up a commission for betterment of persons with disabilities.

He visited the “Uttarakhand Divyang Utsav-2016”, an exhibition for disabled, organised by Social Welfare Department and Hans Foundation at Parade Ground here today.

Rawat said a commission would work to assist the disabled by making policies for them. He also expressed happiness over the enthusiastic participation of departments, officials, voluntary organisations, self help groups, NGOs and disabled at the exhibition. The Chief Minister directed the officials concerned to ensure participation of special persons in Republic Day and other events.

Rajpur MLA Rajkumar, Social Welfare Secretary Bhupinder Kaur Aulakh, Dehradun District Magistrate Ravinath Raman and office-bearers of Hans Foundation were present on the occasion.
