EC shifts four DCs

CHANDIGARH: A day after the enforcement of the poll code, the Election Commission today shifted deputy commissioners of Gurdaspur, Sangrur, Barnala and Moga districts.



Chandigarh, January 5

A day after the enforcement of the poll code, the Election Commission today shifted deputy commissioners of Gurdaspur, Sangrur, Barnala and Moga districts.

In a communication to the Chief Secretary, the EC ordered the appointment of Pradeep Aggarwal, Praveen Kumar Thind and Amar Pratap Singh Virk as DC of Gurdaspur, Moga and Barnala. Abhinav has made Sangrur DC replacing AS Thind. Bhupinder Singh Rai was Barnala DC and Pardeep Sabharwal Gurdaspur DC. PS Gill was recently appointed Moga DC after former bureaucrat Kuldeep Singh Vaid quit his job to contest Assembly elections on the Congress ticket. The EC had recently sought a panel of 50 IAS and IPS officers who can be posted on its intervention.

SHO transferred

Guruharsahai SHO Chhinderpal Singh too was shifted on Thursday. A complaint was lodged withthe EC by Congress MLA Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi. Rajwinder Singh, SP (HQs), confirmed the development. — TNS
