Four held for kidnapping teenager

The Bhiwani police yesterday freed a 17-year-old boy from his four captors and arrested them. Ashish, Ravi, Satyam and Rajnish were arrested with a country-made pistol, live cartridge, knives and a Swift car.

Abhishek, a resident of the Bank colony, was allegedly abducted and a ransom call demanding Rs 12 lakh was made to his parents. The local police registered a case and a special team was constituted to nab the accused, said Pratiksha Godara, SP.

During interrogation, the accused confessed to their involvement in several other crime incidents. On May 13, the accused had murdered the occupant of an Alto car and dumped the body at the Beri Dighal road. They then used the car to escape after snatching a gold bangle and an ATM card from a couple near Karnal. —TNS
