To sensitise the bureaucracy about the problems of rural areas, the state government has decided that senior IAS and IPS officers would stay for two days and a night in a village of the sub division of their first posting.
The announcement was made by CM Manohar Lal Khattar during the inauguration of a daylong symposium on ‘Improvement in Training Modules’ organised by the Department of Personnel and Training here today.
The CM claimed about 15 officers had sent their tour programs already. In fact, P Raghavendra Rao, a senior IAS officer, had stayed in a village in Palwal district, too, he said. These officers would carry out a comparative analysis of the facilities available then and now.
In his address, Khattar said, “Training should be linked with new technology to bring more efficiency and transparency in work.”
Trainees from seven states, including Haryana, J&K, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, in addition to the Director Generals of Central Training Institute (CTI) and Administrative Training Institute (ATI) participated in the symposium.
