Jammu, June 26

The local administration today used a JCB to pull out two trucks which got stuck in the Tawi following flash flood in the higher reaches of Jammu.

The drivers and labourers had narrowly escaped the sudden rise of water in the river as they left the vehicles in time.

On Thursday heavy rains in the upper reaches of Jammu led to the rise in the water level of the Tawi river suddenly and several people had a narrow escape.

The trucks belong to people extracting sand and boulders for construction activity.
