Man found dead in Jammu

Jammu, August 2

A 27-year-old man allegedly committed suicide today by shooting himself with a country-made rifle in the Thakrakor area of Reasi district, a police officer said.

The police officer said the victim, identified as Pawan Kumar, a resident of Matta village in Reasi district, was found dead at his house.

“He was hit by a bullet from a country-made rifle that was lying next to his body,” the officer said.

The officer said as per initial investigations it appeared to be a case of suicide, but other angles could not be ignored.

The police have started investigations to know the reason behind the death .

“A case has been registered and investigation started in this regard,” the police officer said. — PTI
