Minister orders probe into illegal mining

SONEPAT: Minister of State for Mining Naib Singh Saini has ordered an inquiry into the allegations of illegal sand mining in a number of villages of the district.

SONEPAT, FEBRUARY 10

Minister of State for Mining Naib Singh Saini has ordered an inquiry into the allegations of illegal sand mining in a number of villages of the district.

The probe was ordered during the district grievance committee meeting at the Mini-Secretariat here today.

Residents of Abbaspur had complained about illegal mining at a depth of 10-30 feet in a number of villages, including Abbaspur, Bindroli, Bhowapur, Nasirpur and Harshana Kalan.

The investigating team will be headed by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), District Revenue Officer (DRO), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), and a mining inspector.

Saini exhorted the officials of district administration to ensure transparency in work.
