Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat will  inaugurate the Mussoorie Winterline Carnival in Mussoorie     from December 25 up to 30.

Addressing a press conference here today, District Magistrate SA Murugesan, who also heads the organising committee, disclosed that the Mussoorie Winterline Carnival would start with a ‘shobha yatra’ that would commence from the Survey Ground, Landour, on December 25 at 1 pm. He said the ‘sobha yatra’ would reach the Library Chowk at 4 pm, where Rawat himself would formally inaugurate the festival by hoisting the carnival flag. 

Singer Hansraj Hans, performance by Womaniya band and a kavi sammelan that will include poets like Ashok Chakradhar and Pratap Faujdar will be the highlights of the event. 

Murugesan disclosed that artistes from Uttarakhand would also be performing. Uttarakhand folk artistes like Padam Shri Basanti Bisht and folk singers Preetam Barathwan and Soniya Anand Rawat will also perform.

Among other activities to be undertaken during the carnival includes a half marathon in the memory of late actor and Mussoorie resident Tom Alter. Nature walk, bird watching for tourists, fun games and fancy dress competitions for children will also be part of the carnival.
