Nahan Navodya students to be shifted

SOLAN: Taking strict note of the district administration’s report on the dilapidated building of the Nahan-based Jawahar Navodya Vidyalaya (JNV), Suresh Kumar Sharma, Commissioner, JNV’s regional office, today directed immediate shifting of 94 students to other branches where adequate accommodation was available.

Taking strict note of the district administration’s report on the dilapidated building of the Nahan-based Jawahar Navodya Vidyalaya (JNV), Suresh Kumar Sharma, Commissioner, JNV’s regional office, today directed immediate shifting of 94 students to other branches where adequate accommodation was available.

He visited the school following the submission of a report of the school building condition, which has been declared unfit by the CPWD.

He said 14 students of Class XI (arts) and 40 of Class XII would be shifted to Kullu branch, while 40 students of science stream would be adjusted in other branches in Solan, Shimla, Bilaspur and Mandi. He said Cluster in charge, Shimla, MC Charles, would inspect the quality of food. Nahan SDM inspected the school premises on April 23 and observed that a portion of the building, despite being declared unfit, was still being used to house students. —TNS
