Chandigarh, September 7
The ‘none of the above’ (NOTA) option, introduced in the Panjab University Campus Student Council (PUCSC) elections for the first time, was exercised by 6 to 9 per cent of students who cast their votes for the three posts of vice-president, secretary and joint secretary here today.
The highest NOTA count was for the post of joint secretary. As many as 952 students (around 9.2 per cent of the total number of voters) chose the option. For the post of PUCSC vice-president, 755 students (7.3 per cent of total number of voters) went with NOTA option while 707 voters (6.8 per cent of total number of voters) exercised the NOTA option.
The lowest number of NOTA votes (191) was for the post of president. — TNS
