Chandigarh, June 26

For the second consecutive day today, passengers at the Chandigarh railway station were at the receiving end due to security reasons in view of the Railway Minister’s visit. The road in front of the main entrance was closed for vehicular movement.

For better traffic management, additional traffic and railway police personnel were deployed to guide passengers to park their vehicles at the earmarked lots.

In the morning, a 70-year-old man, Bilesh Kumar, had a harrowing time while taking his differently abled wheelchair-bound daughter in a cart to the platform to board a train. Instead of guiding this elderly man, the security staff  asked him to find his way.

Passengers also faced inconvenience as auto-rickshaws and taxis were not allowed near the station, forcing them to walk with their heavy luggage.
