Sacked patwari wins legal battle after 15 years

ABOHAR: A patwari who faced compulsory retirement from service by the Revenue Department in Sriganganagar on August 9, 2000, has now won the legal battle.

A patwari who faced compulsory retirement from service by the Revenue Department in Sriganganagar on August 9, 2000, has now won the legal battle. A Double Bench of the Rajasthan High Court has directed that Baldev Singh should be reinstated with all due benefits. The court quashed the proceedings initiated by the District Collector, Sriganganagar, under Rule 53(1) of the Rajasthan Civil Services Pension Rules, 1996. Baldev was appointed in 1973, while ordering his compulsory retirement, the District Collector said his confidential reports for 1979, 1981 and 1982 were not good, his increment was stopped in 1990 and 1997. The High Court has directed the state to give him all the benefits for which Baldev was eligible on superannuation of services on December 31, 2015. — OC
