Soon, ‘rent a motorcycle’ to tourists

KULLU: GS Bali, Transport, Technical Education and Food and Civil Supplies Minister, said today that ‘rent a motorcycle’ scheme would be launched in the state under which people would be able to rent out their two-wheelers to tourists.

GS Bali, Transport, Technical Education and Food and Civil Supplies Minister, said today that ‘rent a motorcycle’ scheme would be launched in the state under which people would be able to rent out their two-wheelers to tourists.

Addressing mediapersons here today, he said the Transport Department would register private two-wheelers for the purpose.

He said the scheme would be launched under the Motor Vehicles Act. He said owners of the vehicles would have to follow the conditions and regulations of the scheme, besides adhering to the traffic rules. He said the movie would generate employment for the youth and provide better facilities to the tourists.

The minister said motorcycle owners could register their vehicles under the scheme by paying Rs 1,000 per vehicle for five years. He appealed to the youth to benefit from the scheme to generate self-employment.
