SP-rank officer ends life

JALANDHAR:SP-rank officer Narinder Singh (45) allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his official quarter at the Punjab Armed Police (PAP) headquarters here today.

SP-rank officer Narinder Singh (45) allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his official quarter at the Punjab Armed Police (PAP) headquarters here today. 

Last posted as an assistant commandant in 5th IRB, Amritsar, he was under suspension. He was suspended in connection with a criminal case of resorting to firing in Delhi. 

He had been living here with his family for the past few years. Narinder was a judo player and had coached players of the Punjab Police. He was bestowed with Arjuna Award in 1998.
