Dehradun, September 28

A two-day workshop, organised by the University of Cambridge at Kasiga School, concluded today. Over 50 participants from various prestigious schools, including TISB, Canadian International School, British School, The Sriram School, Billabong High, Maldives, Genesis Global, Vidya Sanskar, Aditya Birla Academy, Calcutta International and YCIS, Shangai, attended the workshop that taught the Cambridge International Examination (CIE) curriculum. The Global Perspectives workshop was conducted by Keely Laycock, a full-time trainer with over 20-years of experience in the UK and at the international level. Nicola Williams, practicing teacher, examiner and moderator for over 23 years, conducted the Art and Design workshop.

All the delegates received a traditional Indian welcome on arrival at Kasiga. After the auspicious lighting of the ceremonial lamp, an invocation to Lord Ganesh and a formal welcome by head of the school Dr Neeta Bali, the workshop got under way. The discussions, interactive sessions and exchange of teaching methods were appreciated by all participants. Since these are relatively new subjects, it was felt that such workshops should be held at regular intervals as these could benefit the CIE educators immensely.
