The stage act

The Chandigarh-based Alankar Theatre Group is all set showcase a play titled Poster at the Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh on January 4, 2015, from 6: 30 pm onwards. The play has been written by Dr Shankar Shesh and directed by Chakresh Kumar and it duration is one hour fifteen minutes. Poster is about poor labourers of a backward village, whose owner Patel has been exploiting them from the beginning. Labourers are denied even their basic needs and are forced to work on minimum wages. But as we know, a small spark can lead to a big fire; a small incident makes them realise their power and their requirement in this society. The story is about how they stand for themselves and fight for their rights. The director has put in efforts to correlate their situation with those of other labourers in our country. — TNS
