In a surprise development, the Transport Department has found unfeasible the Chief Minister’s announcement about setting up a Haryana Roadways’ sub-depot in Kosli.

The move has sparked anger among Kosli residents, who are describing it as disrespect to the Chief Minister and the region.

Strongly objecting to the action, the BJP’s professional cell has written to the Chief Minister, seeking disciplinary action against the officers concerned who had declared his announcement as impractical.

Accepting the long-pending demand of residents of Kosli, 35 km from here, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar made the announcement during a ‘vikas’ rally organised in Rewari on May 28 last year.

As per sources, the matter came to the fore when the Dakshin Haryana Vikas Lok Manch, a social outfit, wrote to the transport authority.

It sought the implementation of the Chief Minister’s announcement about setting up a Haryana Roadways’ sub-depot in Kosli without any further delay.

Responding to the letter, the Director, Transport Department, recently informed the outfit that a sub-depot could not be established in Kosli as the announcement was found unfeasible in an inquiry, said the sources.

“Blame it on the irresponsible attitude of the transport authority towards the Chief Minister’s announcement,” said Ranbir Singh Yadav, general secretary of the manch.

“It is quite feasible to execute the decision as there is sufficient space to develop a sub-depot at the location where roadways buses halt in Kosli at present,” he said.

Yadav said the transport authority’s denial had dashed their hopes of getting better roadways services after the setting up of a sub-depot in Kosli.

“The Chief Minister should direct the transport authority to execute his decision lest other departments start washing their hands off his announcements,” he added.

Satish Khola, state coordinator of the BJP’s professional cell, in his letter to the Chief Minister, sought the execution of the announcement.
