UPES gets international certification

DEHRADUN: The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun, has met the international requirements of ‘occupational health and safety management systems’ and has been certified as an OHSAS-18001 institution.

The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun, has met the international requirements of ‘occupational health and safety management systems’ and has been certified as an OHSAS-18001 institution. Earlier, the UPES had achieved ISO-9001 (quality management) and ISO-14001 (environment management systems) certificates.

The UPES had established the department of health, safety and environment, as a result of which it got the OHSAS-18001 certification.

Arun Dhand, Director, Media Affairs, said it was the only University in the state to have certifications on the three aspects of quality, environment and safety.—TNS
