CM compares Cong to ‘blown cartridge’, says has no scope

Taking a jibe at the entry of Priyanka Vadra Gandhi into active politics, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday compared the Congress with a ‘blown cartridge’ and said the party has no scope in the country.

“The Congress is like a blown cartridge and the chances of its survival are less,” said Khattar while replying to a query of mediapersons at the Karnal Aviation Club.

During his brief stay at the club, Khattar interacted with party leaders and workers and invited them to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s programme in Kurukshetra on February 12.

Enthusiastic after the party’s victory in the Jind byelection, the Chief Minister claimed that the BJP would again form the government at the Centre and in the state.

He alleged that opposition parties were frightened due to the rising popularity of the Prime Minister. Khattar said the aim of the BJP was to serve the people, not to get power.

The Chief Minister said the Prime Minister would chair the ‘swachh shakti’ programme in Kurukshetra on Tuesday, in which 20,000 women from across the country would participate. He would lay the foundation stone of the Deendayal Upadhyay University of Health Sciences at Kutail village to be built on 138 acre at a cost of Rs 750 crore.

Underpass on Jind-Panipat rail line inaugurated

Kurukshetra: Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday laid the foundation stones of 12 projects worth Rs 90 crore in Jind district. He inaugurated an underpass on the Jind-Panipat railway line. It has been constructed at a cost of Rs 15 crore. An underbridge worth Rs 3.20 crore was opened on the Hansi Butana canal. The CM laid the stone for the development of the ancient Nag Kshetra Tirtha. A sum of Rs 2.40 crore would be spent on its beautification and introducing various amenities. Khattar also performed rituals at the ancient temple. Later, he attended a yajna at Sanskrit Pathshala being run on the Hansraj tirath premises.Khattar said the Haryana Public Service Commission would soon start the process for the recruitment of 700 college lecturers. The state was producing 750 new doctors every year and a target had been set to increase the number to 2,000 in the next few years, he added. TNS
