Karnal: Janmashtami was celebrated on Friday at Anand Public School, Nigdhu, with spiritual fervour. Subhash Chand Doda, president, Anand Educational Society, was the chief guest, who exhorted the students to imbibe the teachings of Lord Krishna in every realm of life.

Karnal: Janmashtami was celebrated on Friday at Anand Public School, Nigdhu, with spiritual fervour. Subhash Chand Doda, president, Anand Educational Society, was the chief guest, who exhorted the students to imbibe the teachings of Lord Krishna in every realm of life. Meanwhile, students presented a cultural programme and ‘dahi handi’ show, which was enjoyed by all. Jitender Singh, Principal, highlighted the teachings of Lord Krishna.

Two-day Carom championship 

Yamunanagar: A two-day district carom championship for boys and girls was organised at Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Yamunanagar. The chief guest at the opening ceremony was Haryana Assembly Speaker Kanwarpal Gurjar while the chief guest of the closing ceremony was Yamunanagar MLA Ghanshyam Das Arora. Vijay Dahiya, president, District Carom Association, said 130 players of 30 teams participated in the championship in different groups. At the closing ceremony, Arora rewarded the players, who got first, second and third positions. 

College panel constituted

Panipat: Surender Shingla was elected as the new president of the Arya College Management Committee while Yashpal Mittal was elected as the vice-president, Kamal Kishor as general secretary, Piyush Arya as treasurer. Besides, Virender Shingla, Lakshmi Chand Sarraf, Ajay Kumar, Rakesh Shingla, Arun Kumar, Sunil Shingla, Ashok Kumar, Sunil Shingla, Vijay Kumar, Jayant Kumar and Vinay Shingla were elected as executive members of the college management committee. 

Investiture ceremony 

Ambala: OPS Vidya Mandir, Ambala, organised an investiture ceremony in the auditorium. The newly invested student council comprises Anushi (Head Girl), Dhairya (Head Boy), Harshita Bansal (Cultural Captain), Krish Sapra (Discipline Captain, Boys), Himaya Taneja (Discipline Captain, Girls), Parth and Divya Virk (Sports Captains), Yashika Arora (Health and Hygiene Captain). The Houses have Keshav Goel (Captain), Vansh Goel (Vice-Captain) for Ruby House, Sharin Bhalla (Captain), Mansewak Singh (Vice-Captain) for Sapphire House, Prableen Katie (Captain), Ayushi Mishra (Vice-Captain) for Diamond House, and Varenya Goyal (Captain), Diya (Vice-Captain) for Emerald House. The festival of Janmashtami was also celebrated on the occasion.
