Eight police chiefs to meet on drug abuse

CHANDIGARH: On International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on June 26, the Haryana Police will organise a coordination meeting of the police chiefs of seven northern states and Chandigarh to evolve strategies for fighting drug abuse and its illicit trafficking.

On International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on June 26, the Haryana Police will organise a coordination meeting of the police chiefs of seven northern states and Chandigarh to evolve strategies for fighting drug abuse and its illicit trafficking.

DGP Manoj Yadava said today that a coordination meeting of the DGPs of northern states to discuss the challenges of drug abuse and its illicit trafficking and the strategies to combat these would be held at Chandigarh on June 26.

He said the police chiefs of Punjab, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Chandigarh, Haryana Chief Secretary DS Dhesi, Additional Chief Secretary, Home, SS Prasad and officers from the Narcotics Control Bureau, New Delhi, would attend the meeting.
