INLD MLA Hari Chand Middha dies at 76

Member of Legislative Assembly Hari Chand Middha died at a private hospital in Delhi late on Saturday night. He was 76.

Born on April 4, 1942, Chand, a leader of the Indian National Lok Dal, was first elected to public office as a municipal councillor in Jind in 1986. He later went serve as Jind MLA for two consecutive terms—2009 and 2014.

He has been staying away from public meetings these past few months due to his failing health.

Middha's one of Jind’s oldest medical practioners, a profession that remained his focus despite his active political life.
