JJP blames BJP for arrest of its nominee

Karnal, October 9

After the arrest of former BSF jawan and JJP candidate from Karnal Tej Bahadur Yadav in Jhansi by the UP Police during a protest, JJP leaders today flayed the BJP governments in UP and Haryana. They demanded his release.

They alleged the government was afraid of Yadav and had got him arrested.

“Tej Bahadur went to Jhansi to protest against the fake encounter of Pushpinder Yadav. He was arrested by the UP Police at the behest of the Haryana and UP Governments as he is contesting against the Haryana CM,” said Amandeep Chawla, Karnal block president of the JJP, while interacting with mediapersons at his residence.

Chawla said that his earlier nomination against the PM from Varanasi was cancelled and now, he has been arrested. This time, he is contesting against CM Manohar Lal Khattar from the Karnal seat.

The government should release him as he was protesting peacefully, he said. — TNS
