Khattar to inaugurate Hisar airport tomorrow

HISAR: Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will inaugurate the first civil airport of the state here on August 15.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will inaugurate the first civil airport of the state here on August 15. The airport has been completed at a cost of Rs 12.36 crore. Deputy Commissioner Ashok Kumar Meena, who inspected the site, said the aviation hub was the key project which would give a new identity to the town.

While stating this here on Monday, Civil Aviation Minister Rao Narbir Singh said the airport had been established in a record time with the unstinted support from the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Airport Authority of India. He said the passenger terminal to be dedicated to the public would comprise of all facilities including X-ray baggage scanning, reception area as well as security hold area as per the norms of Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). He said the airport had been selected by the Ministry of Civil Aviation under the RCS-UDAN Scheme in which one airline namely M/s Pinnacle Airways Limited have bid for two routes viz Delhi-Hisar and Hisar-Chandigarh. Six flights a week have been planned on both routes, he added.
