Attacking the BJP government for rising cases of crime against women, CLP leader Kiran Choudhry said the government had failed to maintain law and order in the state.

Choudhry was addressing a Haryana Bachao Sangharsh rally at Narnaul in the district today. She said the deteriorating law and order condition could be gauged from the fact that not a single day had passed without any incident of rape and other crimes against women. “Now, people were describing Haryana as a rape state,” she said.

“On the one hand, the BJP government is chanting ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’ slogan, while on the other hand, it is making no serious effort to check the spurt in crime against women. It is for the first time when the state is passing through such a horrible phase where every citizen is feeling unsafe,” said the CLP leader.

She said erroneous policies of the state government had pushed every section of society to the path of devastation. Farmers were neither being given minimum support price nor being awarded compensation for their crop loss. Educated youth were struggling to get jobs as the government had failed to fulfil its poll promise, she added. The CLP leader also decried the state government for not keeping its promises of carrying out development.
